I mean do statistics show that harassing people to death works?
I am at home with a sick child. My mobile ran out of minutes (I am not on a US plan) so Ted can only reach me on the home phone. I am getting constant phone calls about the election tomorrow. I am not answering numbers I don't recognize, but then I got a call I did not answer. Then 5 minutes later, the same number called back. Still I didn't answer. Then it called a third time. I didn't pick up (hoping that the 3rd time was the charm). It immediately called a 4th time. Hmmm...maybe if I don't answer the 5th one...but then it rang a 6th time. So I answered fearing that it was maybe my credit card company trying to find out about a suspicious charge...but why would they call from New Jersey?
No. Vote for Hillary. What? They rang my phone 6 times. What if I had not been home? Would it have just gone on all day. It was a poorly recorded message and the voice was droning.
About an hour later, the phone rang again. 302 (Delaware) area code with a local exchange...so I answered thinking it might be a friend. A live, poised woman politely introduced herself and asked if I was Ann. I said I was and she informed me that the Barak Obama campaign wanted to remind me to vote tomorrow. I said I planned to. Then the person thanked me and hung up. That was it. No push about who I planned to vote for.
And really I don't know who I will vote for, but the Clinton campaign's actions really irked me. I know that she probably did not directly authorize that tactic, but what it said to me was:
1) I do not supervise my staff very well (there are other examples of this throughout the campaign)
2) I don't really give a damn about Delaware
or I might be short on cash
Not a good impression to make at this stage of the game.
