We spent the day driving from LegoLand back to Frankfurt to catch our flights.
I had fun interpreting street signs...
Attention: Ingrid may be driving ahead of you!
Round about ahead = Ted is going to become confused and angry.
There was another one that I didn't get that was on the autobahn where it said: "Emergency stopping only" and I interpreted that as, "Mom would be stopping here to take photos".
We got to Frankfurt, dropped of the rental car, and got situated in our beautiful hotel room at the airport. It was a great room and I am glad Ted insisted on it because it was worth the convenience.
The next day we started off on our separate journeys. Ted and the kids headed to Philadelphia and I had a really difficult trip back to Sarajevo. It was my own fault...I scheduled it so that I could watch Ted and the kids leave and make sure they got off ok before I left. That meant getting to the airport at 8:30 to get them on their 11:00 flight which didn't take off until after 12:00 and then I had to check in for my 2:00 flight and there was a "problem" that made me have to stand next to the ticket agent like the bad kid in the corner with a dunce hat on for 20 minutes while enduring "what's her problem?" glances from all of the other patrons. That flight only got me as far as Munich. I had to wait another 4.5 hours to head to Sarajevo.
I read HP and got all teary. I spent my 35th birthday alone in German airports. Made me wonder where I would be that time next year...or when I turn 40. Suddenly, with everyone gone...I just didn't matter to anyone...not really where I imagined I would be at this point in life.
