I am not going to comment on the horrible events at Virginia Tech yet.  I am a little disappointed that the UD live journal page is silent on the topic.  Maybe it's too soon.

My heart truly goes out to everyone involved, but especially to my colleagues handling academic advisement on campus.  As they come to work tomorrow they will be flooded by very upset parents and students who will want to make irrational decisions about important things.  There will be no way to rush these people off the phone or handle them in 15 minute appointments.  This staff will need to step up - I wish I could send help - they will be the unsung heroes to many students and families.
