As painful as this year as been - and in some very important ways, great too - I cannot believe it is almost over.  I spent New Year's 2007 in Germany with the same friends I happen to be visiting right now in Korea.  It really doesn't seem like it was a year ago.  At the same time, the family trip to Disney and my father's death and Dayna's visit to Sarajevo feel like they could have happened 5 years ago.  That kind of sums up the year for me; many happy things punctuated by gut wrenching experiences.  That's all I am going to say.  There are still 30 days left.  I've played enough poker in my life to know that you don't know who has won until you turn over the last card.
